JOB SUMMARY
Overall responsibilities are to support Engineering and Production teams with the development and sourcing of cutting edge composites and materials technology.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
•Drive procurement commodity strategies
•Identify and propose best value suppliers to the team based on individual’s interpretation of requested parts/blueprints
•Ensure continuity of supply and lead escalation meetings with suppliers for parts shortages to develop recovery plan.
•Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
•Demonstrate excellent communication and judgement interfacing with management to understand purchase requirements; interfacing with suppliers to communicate purchase requirements; supporting negotiation of more complex unique purchase terms and conditions.
•Interface with management to identify and communicate purchase requirements to be utilized and approved by management.
•Process purchasing transactions in accordance with DAR/FAR and AS-9100, and policies.
•Help with selection of vendors to procure technical commodities meeting criteria of price, quality, quantity, availability, and delivery dates and places orders.
•Analyze departmental/product bill of material purchase requisitions/requirements for completeness and accuracy of information.
•Contact department or initiator to clarify and complete information. Determine method needed to process requisition such as bid, request for proposal, or blanket contract.
•Utilize ERP system to identify requirement, place purchase orders, and follow up on delivery.
•Negotiate contracts and bid proposals meeting company delegated signature authority policy.
•Communicate purchasing procedures and policies to departments, vendors and staff.
•Distribute and manage technical bid invitations or requests for proposal, receive and analyze quotes, bids, and proposals, and awards the contract.
•Monitor the maintenance of records regarding pricing and ordering of materials; prepares reports analysis and recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
•Experience using ERP/MRP for determining requirements for recurring production, as well as, new product development.
•Experience in production procurement and understanding of production planning practices
•Organized and detail oriented
•Strong leadership and team building skills.
•Excellent customer service skills
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•High attention to detail, coupled with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
•Exceptional analytical, problem solving skills
•Technical knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications, ie. MS Office Suite, Excel, SQL, Syspro, etc.
•Knowledge of textiles supply chain
•Understanding of full product lifecycle from engineering development process as well as manufacturing and customer support
•Experience reading datasheets, drawings and blueprints
•Experience in production procurement
•Must be U.S. Citizen per customer/project requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Desired Bachelor’s degree in business supply chain, engineering, or similar technical discipline.
Proven buying experience (required)
Desired experience with aerospace and defense contractor
3 years of technical procurement, manufacturing, development
