JOB SUMMARY:

Assembles, rigs and tests parachutes

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Parachute rigging
  • Parachute testing
  • On-aircraft support (As a member of flight crew)
  • Equipment assembly
  • Make parachute descents as necessary
  • Correct and adjust chute using sewing machine
  • Follows company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned/needed to support the organization and department

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FAA Riggers License is required
  • Explosives Training Certificate is required before the use of explosives
  • Skydiving License (or equivalent) and currency is required before performing parachute descents
  • Operational knowledge of parachutes and parachute descent is required.
  • Expert knowledge of parachute rigging and testing
  • Required knowledge of tools and instruments includes rigging tools, powered tools, workshop tools, skydiving rigs, cameras and other test equipment
  • Operational knowledge of the use of deployment explosives
  • Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Writes reports
  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Computes rate, ratio, and percent
  • Carries out instructions in written, oral, or diagram formats
  • Knowledge of internet, Access, spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year certificate from college or technical school above high school
  • Military or commercial rigging experience, military jumpmaster / loadmaster experience is preferred
