SUMMARY:  Effectively integrates program contractual and Quality System requirements into business processes; monitors process and product conformance and trends; acts to ensure program requirements are met.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the integration of contractual and Quality System requirements into development, procurement, and manufacturing processes
  • Develops, or oversees the development of, documentation needed to support program needs such as quality plans, control plans, statements of work, work instructions, instructions to suppliers, and flow down requirements to suppliers
  • Serves as a technical expert in quality to other functions; provides interpretation of complex requirements
  • Leads or supports the development, coordination, implementation, and verification of corrective actions.
  • Lead point of contact with customer quality counterparts (including government and customer source inspection).
  • Maintains detailed records of quality activities and functions in support of department objectives.
  • Performs and/or directs source and in-process inspection, internal and supplier quality audits.
  • Leads and/or supports Material Review Board activities and monitor nonconformance trends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • General familiarity with MIL specifications and standards and commercial equivalents
  • AS9100 Quality system experience
  • Working knowledge of probability and statistical inference, plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong communication and team work skills with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), (preferred)
  • Lean or Six Sigma experience, (preferred)
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export-controlled technical information

EXPERIENCE: 5 years of experience in Aerospace and/or Defense Company. Three to five years’ experience with Space programs and Mission Assurance background is preferred.

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college in an engineering or related field

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The environment is general office moderate.  While in the plant, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.  As the position requires travel, the employee will be exposed weather and the commonly recognized risks of travel.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The position requires that the employee regularly sits, and talks or hears.  The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.  The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger such as with a keyboard, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Vision requirements include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
