Position Summary:
Serves as the POC on all matters pertaining to contract interpretation and compliance including compliance with terms and conditions and US government contracting regulations. Develops quotations, sales orders, or other documents describing organizational products and services in response to requests from customers. Monitors the production status and customer service issues and repairs. Collaborates with members of sales, marketing, finance or product teams to ensure content is complete, accurate, and timely. Provides, guidance and assistance to all departments on contractual obligations and requirements.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as primary point of contact with customers on day-to-day commercial and contract matters. Includes status updates and assisting customer inquiries be directed to the right internal functional roles. Other administrative duties as needed.
  • Reviews contracts to ensure conformity with various procedures established by law, materials management, risk management, the engineering department, etc.
  • Enters Sales Orders into EPR system, including contract and PO modifications as needed.
  • Prepares customer quotes based on input from other functional roles. Ensures bid preparation and review process is followed.
  • Leads Business Unit contract review meeting. Participates & supports in project reviews.
  • Supports the negotiation, administration, and execution of all contracts.
  • Supports in the termination, and renegotiation of all contracts.
  • Evaluates and monitors contract performance to determine the necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Recommends changes to contracting policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the preparation of company proposals.
  • Assists in the resolution of contract discrepancies and preparation of written documents.
  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Writes reports and correspondence; effectively presents information to and responds to questions from customers, clients, managers, and government officials.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
  • Follows company rules and procedures.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Contract or Business Administration or related field.
  • 5 years+ of related experience with both government and commercial contracts. Experience with International contracts is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the FAR and DFAR.
  • Knowledge of costing and pricing methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of contract documents and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of contractor compliance issues and procedures.
  • Preferred working Knowledge of SYPSPRO ERP System.
  • Operating knowledge of contract negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Working knowledge and ability with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

Travel Requirements:
Periodic travel may be required to support customer meetings and training classes.

ITAR Requirements:
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

The position requires that the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: (*)
This position will require a working environment mix comprised of office, shop floor, field and customer locations (both domestic and international). While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to static electricity; explosives in test conditions; fumes; airborne particles; outside weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is normally moderate may be occasionally high.

Salary: $70,000 – $110,000
