SUMMARY: Inspects and/or tests products to ensure compliance with contract specifications.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs inspections and/or tests throughout to determine conformity of product
  • Examines assemblies for acceptance in materials and workmanship
  • Recognizes, identifies and documents defects and discrepancies
  • Able to communicate effectively with Engineering and Procurement with issues
  • Represents Quality Assurance in continuous process improvements
  • Reviews supplier paperwork to verify adherence to the specification/ drawing and flowed quality requirements
  • Coordinates and documents quality defect dispositions

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Has working knowledge of basic quality concepts and principles
  • Ability to understand written and oral instructions in English
  • Able to read drawings and blueprints
  • Able to read material specifications and parse out requirements from them
  • Ability to pay attention to details and accuracy while in a fast-paced production environment
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Takes responsibility for tasks, quality, and accuracy and is accountable for those responsibilities
  • Practices good housecleaning and safety skills
  • Able to work overtime and weekends to achieve company goals
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or otherwise able to review all export- controlled technical information

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 6 months as a QA/QC Inspector

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles as well as a moderate to high noise level

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to stand for long periods of time. Able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Vision required includes up close, distance, color, depth perception and ability to adjust focus either by corrected or non- corrected vision. Work involves standing, walking, sitting, lifting, reaching, and bending; requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines and inspection equipment.

COMPENSATON: Competitive salary based on experience.
