Rigging Intern

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Functions of the position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support MRP system activities, including data accuracy, implementation efforts, and alignment with production planning and inventory control
  • Assist with production planning and scheduling, including tracking work orders, materials, and delivery timelines
  • Manage and track quality-related projects and initiatives
  • Develop and maintain production travelers and work instructions to ensure clear, standardized processes on the shop floor
  • Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) to reflect current production configurations and support procurement and manufacturing accuracy
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, supply chain) to support smooth execution of operational processes
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting for production performance, quality metrics, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and throughput in operations
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned
  • Follow company rules, procedures, and safety requirements

 

Education & Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in college; preferred majors include Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or Business-related fields.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, production environments, or quality systems through coursework, internships, or projects is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical or aerospace systems is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with production, quality, or operations tools (e.g., basic CAD viewing, documentation systems, or data tracking tools) is a plus.
  • Understanding of technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in inspection, documentation, and process adherence.
  • Ability to support hands-on tasks in a production or test environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, especially for documenting processes and reporting issues.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, processes, and operational needs.

Travel Requirements:

Periodic travel may be required to support project functions such as supplier visits, product testing, and technical customer meetings.

 

ITAR Requirements:

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

 

Physical Demands: (*)

The position requires that the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel.  The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: (*)

This position will require a working environment mix comprised of office, shop floor, field and customer locations (both domestic and international). While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to static electricity; explosives in test conditions; fumes; airborne particles; outside weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is normally moderate may be occasionally high.

Pay Range: $20 – $25 per hour
