Position Summary:
This position is part of a dedicated team responsible for the design, development, and testing of parachute recovery system components for aerospace applications. This position supports the full product lifecycle, from conceptual design through integration and testing, with increasing involvement in more complex technical tasks. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Design and develop components for the parachute recovery systems for aerospace applications, including textiles and metallic hardware.
- Perform structural load and margin analysis using hand calculations and standard engineering methods.
- Develop and maintain CAD models, detailed drawings, and associated documentation.
- Support conceptual design, prototyping, design validation, and qualification testing.
- Conduct material and system-level tests; gather, analyze, and report test data.
- Ensure designs meet technical, functional, and customer requirements.
- Interface with project engineers, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
- Follows company rules and procedures.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or defense.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of aerospace and/or mechanical design principles, including structural analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with textile design or soft-goods is a plus.
- Experience with test planning, execution, and data analysis.
- Solid knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficiency with CAD tools, including AutoCAD and Solid Works.
- Strong grasp of systems engineering principles.
- Working knowledge of modern programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Solid foundation in mathematics and analytical thinking.
- Technical understanding of the company’s products and mechanical systems.
- Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, integrity, independent decision-making.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.

Travel Requirements:
Periodic travel may be required to support project functions such as supplier visits, product testing, and technical customer meetings.
ITAR Requirements:

Work Environment: (*)
This position will require a working environment mix comprised of office, shop floor, field and customer locations (both domestic and international). While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to static electricity; explosives in test conditions; fumes; airborne particles; outside weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is normally moderate may be occasionally high.

Pay Rate: $88k – $114k
