Position Summary:
The Engineering Analyst III is responsible for performing advanced engineering analyses supporting the design, development, and validation of experimental, prototype, or production parachutes and deployment systems and related components. This role provides technical leadership in analysis activities and contributes to the advancement of the company’s modeling and simulation capabilities.
The Engineering Analyst III does not have formal supervisory responsibilities but may provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to Engineering Analyst I and II team members.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Leads engineering analysis efforts supporting the design and development parachute system programs.
- Develop technical concepts and analytical solutions to meet customer specifications during proposal and bid activities.
- Create and implement computational models, simulations, and analysis methods to support engineering evaluations.
- Drive improvements and advancements in the organization’s modeling, simulation, and analytical capabilities.
- Identify technical risks and contribute to risk assessments throughout all phases of engineering programs.
- Collaborate with program managers, customers, and external vendors to support project objectives.
- Define and specify instrumentation requirements needed for testing and data collection.
- Oversee the reduction, analysis, and interpretation of test data to support design validation.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline from an accredited four-year college or university. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant engineering analysis experience.

Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of aeronautical, mechanical, or electrical engineering design principles and practices.
- Expert knowledge of at least one scientific programming language (e.g., Python, Fortran, C/C++, MATLAB).
- Extensive experience with advanced analysis and simulation tools such as LS‑DYNA, NASTRAN, HyperWorks, and other FEA / CFD software.
- Experience interpreting technical documents such as engineering journals, research papers, and technical drawings and procedures.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to prepare reports, procedures, and engineering documentation.
- Ability to clearly present technical information and respond to questions from customers, vendors, managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with standard office software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with general office equipment and PC-based work environments.

Travel Requirements:
Periodic travel may be required to support project functions such as supplier visits, product testing, and technical customer meetings.
ITAR Requirements:
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

The position requires that the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: (*)
This position will require a working environment mix comprised of office, shop floor, field and customer locations (both domestic and international). While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to static electricity; explosives in test conditions; fumes; airborne particles; outside weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is normally moderate may be occasionally high.

Pay Rate: $130,000 – $165,000
