Summary: Oversees and coordinates the daily activities of production staff involved in the manufacturing of parachutes and related accessories, ensuring workflow efficiency, product quality, and adherence to safety and production standards.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supports day-to-day operations by coordinating activities, monitoring workflow, and assisting team members to ensure efficient and continuous production processes.
- Managing employee attendance, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Coordinating maintenance schedules and ensuring equipment is properly maintained to minimize downtime.
- Facilitating communication between floor staff and upper management to address operational issues or improvements.
- Ensuring proper onboarding and orientation of new hires in the production area.
- Leading daily or weekly production meetings to review progress, address challenges, and set priorities.
- Collaborates with operators and mechanics to troubleshoot and adjust sewing machines and equipment, ensuring defective products are repaired and meet quality standards.
- Develops employees’ skills and work capabilities.
- Develops manufacturing floor layout for new production projects.
- Interfaces with the Engineering Department in the process of Research & Development.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

- Responsible for meeting daily, weekly, and monthly production goals by coordinating team activities, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate production and assembly.
- Develops, implements, and enforces training for all process employees in quality assurance, safety, and machine and department operations.
- Ensures all necessary documentation and requirements are complete and accurate prior to the start of manufacturing. This includes verifying updated item drawings, incorporating traveler revisions, and processing completed intercompany requests to ensure a smooth and timely production launch.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including production engineers, to ensure that manufacturing deadlines are met by coordinating the timely release of travelers and other critical documentation to support production schedules.
- Performs preliminary inspection and measurement of parts and products to ensure they meet required specifications prior to submission for formal quality inspection.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, to drive to continuous improvements. This will include:
- Promote Lean philosophy and techniques to all levels of manufacturing personnel.
- Implement systems for efficiency and quality improvement.
- Create and maintain standard work process documentation and visual work instructions.
- Track and publish savings and progress of Lean Initiatives.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals; able to write clear and concise reports.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization, including employees, management, and senior leadership.
- Solid math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; capable of calculating rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Able to follow complex instructions presented in written, oral, or diagram form; skilled in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and product specifications.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in business, management, engineering, or a related discipline preferred
5 to 7 years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Experience with ERP systems is highly desirable.
Training Requirements:
Hands-on training provided to ensure full understanding of company-specific processes and performance expectations.

Physical Demands:
The position requires that the employee regularly stands; walks and talks or hears. The employee is frequently required to use hands to fingers such as with a manufacturing tool, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; or balance and stop, crouch, or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment: (*)
This position will require a working environment mix comprised of office, shop floor, field and customer locations (both domestic and international). While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to static electricity; explosives in test conditions; fumes; airborne particles; outside weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is normally moderate may be occasionally high.

Pay Range: $28.70 – $31.78
