Oxygen Systems Technician II

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for inspecting and cleaning parts, assembly, testing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing oxygen supply systems, sophisticated analytical instrumentation, and any related parts. Precision use of hand tools and equipment in a dust-free and clean working environment is required. Ability to work independently is required.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Assembles and pressure tests hoses, sub-assemblies, and related parts; services and cleans component parts; pulls stock for production; completes all documentation and computer data entries.
• Inspects, cleans, and measures materials, products, and work for conformance to specifications and standards.
• Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products.
• Interprets blueprints, data, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, and measuring instruments required.
• Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics.
• Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports and inconsistencies or equipment issues.
• Performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex oxygen equipment and systems.
• Performs equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance
• Packages and labels oxygen systems parts and products in accordance with standard procedures. Responsible for ensuring the transfer of items to proper locations.
• Maintains adherence to company policies, ISO quality operating procedures, safety standards, and good housekeeping/dust-free environment practices.
• Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
• Follows company rules and procedures.

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in STEM field desirable.
• Requires 3-5 years of related experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of quality inspection/assembly experience in manufacturing preferred.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
• Ability to gain proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
• Capable of accurately using standard measuring tools, including, but not limited to, rulers, calipers, and optical inspection tools (Keyence machine, microscopes).
• Capable of reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings and work specification sheets.
• Detail-oriented and able to maintain high accuracy standards.

• Proficient mechanical skills including ability to use hand tools.

• Must be able to organize, plan, and sequence work efficiently.
• Must maintain an excellent attention to detail.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Experience driving box trucks is a plus.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Training Requirements:

On-the-job training:  From 9 to 12 months

Travel Requirements:

Periodic travel may be required to support project functions such as supplier visits, product testing, and technical customer meetings.

The position requires that the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: (*)

This position will require a working environment mix comprised of office, shop floor, and field. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to static electricity; explosives in test conditions; fumes; airborne particles; outside weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is normally moderate may be occasionally high.
