SUMMARY: Cuts layers of fabric.
SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Spreads fabric on table preparatory to cutting.
- Aligns cloth/fabric to table to measured length.
- Cuts exact lengths of parachute cloth fabric
- Cuts fabric by hand.
- Calculates amount of fabric required.
- Clamps bundles of fabric pieces/lengths together and arranges with piece order.
- Performs manual cutting, cutting using Lectra cutting machine, and Laser cutting.
- Follow company policy and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Efficiently utilizes cutting implements such as an automated cutter, cutting knife and also rulers.
- Reads and interprets written information at the level of two and three syllables. Printing and speaking simple sentences in English is preferred.
- Add, subtracts three-digit numbers. Reads, measures, and interprets measures by ruler.
- Carries out one or two step instructions mostly in standardized situations.
- Follows specific instructions very accurately.
EDUCATION: Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Up to one year of working experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually moderate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The position requires the employee to regularly stand; walk; use hands, fingers such as with a scissors, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, crouch, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close and distance vision.
