Non-Steerable T-11 Army Parachute
The T-11 is in exclusive use with the U.S. Army which was designed, developed and manufactured by Airborne Systems. The T-11 military parachute is the next generation non-steerable troop parachute system, and includes a completely redesigned main and reserve parachute and an integrated harness assembly that is suitable for a wider range of soldier weights than the previous system. Airborne Systems is the only qualified source to provide the T-11 system internationally.
The T-11 system includes the main canopy and harness and the T-11R reserve parachute.
A New, Safer Generation of Troop Parachutes
The unique design of the main canopy allows for minimal oscillation after canopy inflation, even after lowering the combat load. The T-11 achieves a lower rate of descent by having a canopy that is 28 percent larger than the T-10, resulting in a remarkable reduction in landing injuries; greater than 75% over 3,000 jumps.
Static-line T-11 Military Parachute System
- Carries a paratrooper with a total exit weight of 400 lb.
- Reduces jumper injury rate by over 75%
- Minimizes opening shock thanks to a unique canopy sleeve and slider allowing for canopy inflation time of about 6 seconds
- Improved reliability and consistency
- Provides a slower rate of descent and zero oscillation even after lowering the combat load
- Adjusts to fit all body sizes from the 5th percentile female through the 97th percentile male
T-11R Reserve Parachute
In addition to the new main canopy, the T-11R reserve parachute was built to fit the T-11 system’s weight range. Its innovative aero-conical design, which successfully passed all U.S. Army tests and evaluations, ensures quick and reliable opening for fast and slow malfunctions with no oscillations.
New Features of the T-11R Parachute:
- Center pull handle that allows the jumper to activate using either hand
- Low rate of descent
- Maintained vertical orientation for the jumper allowing proper landing attitude
- Full qualification for use with both MC-6 and T-11 main parachute systems
MC-6 Maneuverable Army Troop Parachute System
Developed through the U.S. Army Special Operations Force’s Tactical Assault Parachute System (SOFTAPS) program for precision infiltration, the MC-6 army troop parachute features the latest in advanced technology for steerable military parachute systems. It offers greater maneuverability, exceptional performance in high altitude drop zones and achieves a lower rate of descent compared to the MC-1 system. The MC-6 System has replaced all the MC-1 steerable troop parachutes in the U.S. military. Airborne Systems is the only source qualified to provide the MC-6 system internationally.
MC-6 Main Canopy (formerly known as the SF-10A)
The MC-6 main canopy is a steerable, round, 28 gore polyconic parachute, which has been used by U.S. Special Forces for over 10 years, proving itself to be consistently safe and reliable.
The SF-10A has demonstrated softer openings at higher elevations and does not suffer from the type of damage seen on the MC1-1C at this deployment condition.
MC-6 Superior Canopy Technology Allows for Better Steering Control
- Turn quickly with minimum pendular motion thanks to the canopy’s nominal 32 ft. diameter and a unique drive system
- Correct a landing point overshoot with the MC-6’s unique ability to back-up in deep brakes
- Control forward speed and turn-rate in flight
- Safely infiltrate all types of drop-zones, including those at high elevations due to a low rate of descent
T-11R Reserve Parachute
The T-11R is an aero-conical design based on the current UK Low Level Parachute reserve canopy, but with increased structural strength.
- Opens rapidly with minimal post-inflation collapse and altitude loss.
- Inflates in all malfunction modes, as well as with a full main canopy, should the reserve be deployed inadvertently.
MC-6 Harness Assembly
- Improved fit and comfort to the parachutist. The two main harness straps can be pre-sized by the jumper prior to donning the assembly.
- Saddle design with multi-directional adjustment fits a wide range of jumpers, from the 5th percentile female to 95th percentile male.
- Incorporates two rugged Capewell releases to meet even the most stringent requirements.
- Four comfort pads are located at the shoulders and under the leg straps.
Intruder RA-1 – From Novice to Special Forces
Designed to meet the requirements of military users, the Intruder RA-1 System, type classified as the RA-1 by the U.S. Army, is suited for a beginner jumper in need of docile performance or an experienced pilot who demands performance extremes for mission success.
Night Landing
The Intruder RA-1 advanced parachute system, consisting of the Intruder® 360 main parachute, the Intruder® 360 reserve parachute, and the Raider 2 harness/container, has been specifically designed for jumpers carrying heavy loads into rough, unfamiliar drop zones at night. These conditions demand a canopy that provides superior glide performance for maximum offset and performance characteristics to minimize the potential for injury on landing.
FLY FARTHER, CARRY MORE, LAND SOFTLY
The Intruder RA-1 has been certified for use to 25,000 ft. above mean sea level to an all up weight of 450 lb., a 90 lb. increase over the MC-4. Both the main and reserve parachutes utilize a unique airfoil section which provides a 4:1 glide ratio, allowing jumpers to travel farther under canopy. The design of the RA-1 canopy provides a unique stall resistant ability that significantly reduces the potential for jumper injury on landing.
Parachute Design Versatility
Intended for use during HALO or HAHO missions, the Intruder 360 main canopy incorporates a design developed by Airborne Systems that improves velocity and glide.
The harness has been developed to accommodate a wider anthropomorphic range (5% female to 95% male) while providing greater comfort. The RA-1 harness container is capable of accommodating all mission essential equipment such as weapon tie down points, radio pouches, and the use of oxygen systems.
The Intruder® system is also available with smaller Intruder® main and reserve canopy at 300 ft².
Smooth and Silent
Pressurized stabilizers increase glide performance and improve performance in deep brakes by forcing the canopy to track forward without lateral slip. The pressurized stabilizers also render the canopy completely silent.
Light toggle pressure and long control strokes make deep brake maneuvers and recovery smooth and easy.
Intruder RA-1 Compatibility
Intruder 360 main canopy is compatible with Airborne System’s new MicroFly II® Equipment Delivery System.
Intruder® 360 Main Canopy
The main canopy is a nine cell hybrid construction (zero porosity top skin, 1.1 oz. 0-3 CFM nylon bottom skin) capable of three deployment methods: Double Bag Static Line (DBSL), Over the Shoulder Ripcord (OTS), and Bottom of Container Throw Out Pilot Chute (BOC).
Intruder® 360 Reserve Parachute
The nine cell reserve canopy is constructed of 1.1 oz., 0-3 CFM nylon, making the reserve easier to pack. The RA-1 reserve also matches the 4:1 glide ratio of the RA-1 main canopy. Incorporation of vents in the canopy bottom skin and mesh in the slider allow the reserve to meet demanding requirements for altitude loss on opening through the entire performance range of the RA-1.
Intruder RA-1 Harness Container
- Bio-harness providing greater comfort by spreading the system’s weight on a greater area of the body.
- Versatile attachment points ensuring any rucksack attachment configuration.

High Performance Ram Air Parachute
The Hi-5 Ram Air Parachute is the most recent innovation in our line of military parachutes. The Hi-5 is truly one of a kind. Not only does it have exceptional ram air glide performance, but it also has the ability to lose altitude quickly–similar to a troop parachute. In order to achieve this, our engineers designed our patent pending Glide Modulation System. Additional toggles are located on the front risers, which allow the jumper to gradually modulate the glide of the canopy, giving the jumper a glide ratio anywhere between 5:1 and 1:1.
This eliminates the need to do spirals or S-turns to lose altitude, and allows for accurate landings. Hence, the Glide Path Modulation is a unique and powerful tool for any type of military free fall operations.
Superior Ram Air Parachute Design
The Hi-5 offers:
- A higher All Up Weight (AUW) of 485lbs on both the main and reserve
- A greater glide ratio of 5:1
- A docile & safe canopy*
- A silent canopy
- Ease of use
- Ease of maintenance
* Even in full brake, the canopy does not stall. The toggle’s pressure is light even with heavy weight.
Advanced Ram Air Parachute Technology
The new design capitalizes on the handling characteristics of the Intruder Ram Air Parachute, the performance of the Hi-Glide, and embraces the tactical consideration of a true ‘main on main’ (main and reserve with identical flight performance) tactical parachute system.
Precision Handling
The Hi-5 Ram Air Parachute is intuitive for the rigger to pack and for the jumper to handle, with a performance similar to the MC-6 parachute. You can go long distances, but with a unique b-line stall capability that’s used in paragliding-type parachutes. You can steer and change glide ratio simultaneously, and land it in very small areas.
Military Ram Air Parachute Missions System
The Multi-Mission System (MMS) is the evolution of the Ram Air parachute (RA-1) system to include drogue fall capability. It keeps all the existing features of the RA-1 military parachute system, such as the bio-contour, magnet riser covers, inspection windows and high altitude seat while allowing the user to choose from a complete set of deployment methods.
Army Parachute Mission System Configurations
The MMS can be configured in various modes:
Without a drogue
- Spring pilot chute with over-the-shoulder ripcord
- Double-bag static line
- Hand deploy
With a drogue
- Self-set drogue
- Hand-set drogue
- Static line drogue
- Release Away Static Line Drogue
The conversion between modes is easy and requires no special tools.
The MMS is available with a variety of attachment points and handle configurations. In the drogue versions, there are two drogue release handles (right hand in the front of the harness, left hand at the bottom of the container). The main release handle is coupled with the drogue release handle.
Ram Air Parachute Compatibility
The MMS accommodates the Intruder® 360 Main and Reserve canopies, or the Hi-5 Main and Reserve canopies.
